1) Jennifer Bartlett, born in Long Beach, California on March 14, 1941 to July 25, 2022 (aged 81), was an American artist and novelist.
2) She later on went to Yale School of Art and Architecture, where she studied with Josef Albers, Jack Tworkov, Jim Dine, and Richard Serra, receiving her MFA in 1965.
3) She was best known for her paintings & prints in familiar subjects, from houses to gardens to oceans & skies, executed in a style that combines elements of both representational & abstract art.
4) Many works were executed on small, square, enamel-coated steel plates that are combined in grid formations to create very large works. She's one of the best painters in postminimalism generation.
5) She created Swimmers Atlanta, a 200 ft multimedia mural for the Federal Building in Atlanta. She did commissions for Volvo, AT&T, Saatchi & Saatchi, Information Sciences Institute, & Battery Park.
6) She won a few awards, and her work is in the collections of the MMoA, MoMA, and others. Her image is included in the iconic 1972 poster Some Living American Women Artists by Mary Beth Edelson.
