1) June Muriel Brown, born in Suffolk, England on February 16, 1927 to April 3, 2022 (age 95), was an English actress and author.

2) During the WWII, she was evacuated to the Welsh village of Pontyates in Carmarthenshire. In the later years, she served in the Wrens & was classically trained at the Old Vic Theatre School in London.

3) Brown had a long television career, with many small roles. In August 2011 she was featured in the BBC's Who Do You Think You Are?, and was the oldest person to have appeared on the program.

4) In July 2012, Brown hosted a documentary for the BBC called Respect Your Elders, which looked at society's treatment and attitudes towards the elderly. She was also active in British theatre.

5) On 31 Jan 2008, aged 80, Brown became the first and, to date, only soap actor to carry an entire episode single-handed. She was best known for her role as Dot Cotton on the BBC soap opera EastEnders.

6) In 2005, she won Best Actress at the Inside Soap Awards & received the Lifetime Achievement award at The British Soap Awards. She was also appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).
